# Fresh Tracks

A daily game about FIRST® Robotics Competition teams and events. Each day has 5 prompts, such as "Name a motor that has ever been legal in FRC". A player has 20 seconds to type one answer for each prompt: a team, an event, or one item from a list.

## How it plays

- The answer box is plain text. It shows no list of answers while the player types.
- A team number counts as typed. For a misspelled name, the game can ask "Did you mean" with one correction. The player picks it or types again.
- A guess that names no answer is refused, and the player tries again. The clock does not stop.
- Names that mean the same answer count as one answer.
- After the run, each prompt opens to the list of possible answers and the tier each one sits in.

## How it scores

- Only a blank at the buzzer scores 0.
- A correct answer scores the tier of that answer: 10 points for the most common answers, up to 100 for the rarest. Each answer has a fixed tier. Other players' answers do not change it.
- The question sets ship with the site, so the game scores each answer in the browser. The site stores what each player answered, but only the site owner can read those counts.
- One point is 14 feet of descent. A perfect run is 500 points, the full 7,000 ft mountain.
- The prompts change at midnight in New York.
